“Un-Bucket” Lists.
Remember recently we were having a conversation how everyone’s “what would you do with a million dollars?” response was all the same?
It goes something like:
Quit your job.
Buy a house.
Travel the world.
Such a common response– its not even exciting.
Yawn. Moving on.
So, once you have everything (that everyone wants) what are you left to do then?
It got me thinking about all the little things we talk about doing, and I hope we eventually start scratching off some of those things.
Sure there are some grand places to see, like going out west and seeing the Antelope Canyons.
And there are quite a few hot spots we want to venture off to in Georgia and the bordering Carolinas.
But there are so many little things I get excited about possibly doing one day that is local and close to home.
They definitely would not make anyone else’s bucket list, and this short list is only a fraction of things to do…. but they indeed sound like a fun thing to do on a Saturday afternoon.
1: Visit the GA aquarium and the Atlanta Zoo. Yeah, I hate crowds and people but both of these places are fun touristy must see places in the capital of the South. I’d love to have a fun adult date with these two places.
2: Walk the entire Sugar Hill Greenway. I think its is 11 miles round trip. Start with coffee at the trailhead in downtown Sugar Hill and make hike on a crisp, cloudy autumn morning. My biggest worry will be the stainless steel toilets at Goldmine park!
3: Get lost in Gwinnett. Pick a spot to drive around and just get lost. Make turns on roads we heard of, and then head down a few we never have, and then say, “oh that is where this road leads too!” And then stop for coffee or hit a cool shopping center when we stumble upon an interesting place. And then GPS back home!
4: Visit more global and international markets. There is no shortage of diversity in this city. We both love interesting foods, exotic spices, and beautiful fruit and produce. Hopefully we can walk out of the next one without spending $200!
5: Visit all of Gwinnett County parks. (Over time, not at once!) OK… this one is a bit of a stretch for me, as you know I am a bit of a homebody and a big creature of habit at times. But Gwinnett is where it is at, and the county invests heavily in its parks and recreation programs… all 52 of them! It could make for a fun adventure to visit all the parks and encounter all of their personalities. Hopefully most of them have normal toilets! 😂
Honestly, you make everything fun, and the ordinary things are anything but. I can’t wait to go on more un-bucket list adventures with you…. cause any day with you is the bucket list itself.
