One Photograph.

I love this picture.

A selfie we took one beautiful evening at Town Center Park. Summer in July.

We were both so happy. Oh, and your eyes are just so…. blue.

You moved in nearly two months prior and we had started to settle into a rhythm.

Our daily routines were starting to form.

And all the while peace was settling in my life as well.

You were with me….

Every. Single. Day.

I remember us crying at times….

pinching ourselves, asking,

“Is this really happening? Are we really living together in the same house?!”

After the ache of long distance,

it was still surreal to not have to say goodbye at the end of a FaceTime call,

but instead, “I will see you after work!”

For us to actually get into the habit and routine of doing frequent things together on the daily

felt like a fairytale.

It took a while for my brain and heart to catch up to the reality that was in front of me.

And this photo reminds me of that…

both of us settled,

both of us happy,

both of us feeling safe and secure.

And this photo is one of those that captured

the calm my heart felt,

knowing we get to spend everyday together forever.
