Zillow has seen some things.
I love browsing Zillow homes with you.
We just genuinely enjoy dreaming about the housing the future has in store for us.
Sometimes we find beautiful homes.
Sometimes we find wonderfully weird ones.
And sometimes…
We find the toilet.
You know the one.
The landlord proudly included a bathroom photo featuring what may have been the most horrifying bathroom photo either of us has ever seen on a rental listing.
This photo is just…. eerie.
Sure, there is evidence she cleaned the bowl…
But what about the rest of the bathroom??
I don’t know what had happened in there.
And frankly…
I didn’t want to know.
All I could think about was…
The dirty towel hanging next to the shower.
The toilet brush on the tile shower floor.
Wait… is that a used plunger??!
Even after a hospital grade disinfecting, I’d still be tempted to wear flip flops while showering in that thing. (shudder!)
What landlord looked at this picture and thought, “Yep… let’s include that one.“
Seriously, that photo should be censored!
We laughed so hard.
Not because we were making fun of the house.
But because we were both equally horrified that this pic made the final cut.
It somehow became less about the toilet…
And more about the fact we could find humor in all things.
One of the unexpected thing about you is discovering that we’re amused by the same ridiculous things.
Apparently…
Even terrifying toilets.
I know I am the one with the toilet phobia, but even you can’t be bothered with this one!

I don’t know what our future home will look like.
I pray it has sloped ceilings.
Plants everywhere.
Persian rugs.
Vintage woodwork.
And just enough weirdness to make it feel like us.
But if we ever decide to sell it or convert it to a rental…
I promise you one thing.
The toilet, no matter how fancy, won’t make the listing photos! 😂🚽

OK, what the hell is this?? Seriously? Months later we are still seeing agents post wild bathroom photos. What listing agent would ever think this photo should make the cut?!
…Cause showering with a toilet isn’t my idea of a good rental deal!
