Decades later, we finally walk together.

I was so excited about our planned trip to Mexico Beach.

It wasn’t the time off from work that had me smiling.

It was not the thought of basking in the sun getting bronze.

No – it was more about what going to the beach together meant.

30 years later…

Your dream,

Your wish,

Your hopes….

in one moment, a realization came true.

Decades before, you felt me out there.

Lonely walks on the beach,

as you contemplate life,

you could feel me.

The anticipation my heart felt as we finally got to our destination…

unpacking, getting settled, getting groceries.

And then finally,

the moment came that beautiful evening…

we got to walk to the beach with our family.

I remember as we were walking up the steep sand dune, you mentioned,

“This is always the best part!”

And that is true… I was instantly taken back to my own childhood….

a time where I saw the beach for the first time.

It was Savannah beach,

We just got to our destination,

and it was time to walk to the beach.

And I remember the excitement of walking up the steep sand dune,

and seeing the ocean for the first time.

A golden horizon,

an evening sunset slowly setting,

vast waters around,

and my heart was filled with happiness.

So fast forward to the present moment,

with the childhood memory on my heart,

and you next to me,

knowing a dream was coming true for you.

And for me too.

And there the ocean was,

in its glory, in its vastness,

waves crashing on white sand.

After a few moments of taking it in,

I pulled you aside, and said with such warmth, “do you realize what is happening? Do you realize what is taking place?”

And instantly, by the look on your face,

and the tears that began to well in your eyes,

I knew you too had been waiting for that moment.

You too had anticipated that day.

The day we reunited on the beach.

30 years prior you made a silent wish.

And somehow through a wild series of life events –

the Universe made it come true.

And the Universe welcomed us in that moment.

It was almost like he said, “Celamoria continues…”

and as a gift,

he cast the most vibrant, golden, and rich pink sunset I had ever seen in my life.

It was so magical to see that sunset with the girls nearby.

And who knows, maybe in that moment,

some magical childhood memory was forming,

that they will get to carry with them and somehow relive in a way that is unimagineable

30 years later in their futures. ❤️

You were walking alone on the beach,

casting a wish into the infinite field… not really sure with your eyes,

but a wish sound in your heart.

Also, 30 years ago,

a much younger version of me is seeing the beach for the first time,

and she is taking the magic of it all in.

We both had warmth and hope in our hearts on those particular days.

I can’t really confirm if its true,

but I would like to allow myself to believe,

that we were both sharing an experience together,

one of hope and magic and a wish for the future,

on that same day,

among the vastness of the ocean,

in an infinite field.
