10 Things I Love About You
I could probably write 100 things.
Actually… I plan to.
But for today, let’s start with ten. 😆
1. You make me feel safe.
Not just physically.
Emotionally.
Not once have I ever wondered where I stand with you.
There is an incredible peace in being loved by someone who is steady and sure of himself.
It’s one of my favorite places to be.
2. You give me flowers… just because.
Not just birthdays.
Not “I messed up. Please forgive me.”
Random Tuesday.
“I was thinking about you.”
You somehow made flowers a sole reflection of your heart.
3. Your special shade of blue eyes still catch me off guard.
I know.
I’ve see them daily now.
It’s ridiculous that they can still surprise me.
Yet somehow…
They still do. 🩵
4. You let me be silly.
You never question my weird ass dances in the kitchen.
You never roll your eyes at my goofy faces.
And you still giggle when I hide around the corner as you come inside from work and I give you a little jump-scare.
You just…
Accept that this is your life with me now.
5. You choose kindness first.
Always. To strangers. To family. To coworkers.
To me.
The world could use a lot more people like you.
I’m just lucky enough to have married one. 🍀
6. You believe in us.
Even before there was an “us.”
You told me you could feel me out there.
I don’t know how to explain that.
I just know…
I’m really glad you never stopped believing.
7. You always reach for my hand.
It doesn’t matter where we are.
A parking lot.
A store.
Walking down the sidewalk.
Somehow, your hand always finds mine.
It’s one of those little things I’ll never stop noticing.
8. You believe I can do anything.
Sometimes even before I do.
That kind of belief and support changes a person.
9. My weird phobias have not scared you away.
Stainless toilets.
Olympic-style swimming pools.
Plumbing and pipes.
You know I won’t have anything to do with them
and understand if plans have to change.
10. You make me feel chosen.
Not once.
Every day.
Through your actions.
Your consistency.
The way you look at me.
Love isn’t something you just say.
It’s something you quietly repeat. ❤️
